AboutComp game a with IGST member Society at Thai Country Club Bangkok Thailand The course Designed by Ron Garl, famous for his work creating hilly courses from flat terrain in Florida, Bangkok’s Alpine Golf Club features a 7,100-yard, par 72 championship course set amid serene lakes and copses of trees. Rolling hills, thoughtfully placed bunkers and numerous water features make the course a challenge for players of all abilities. The course has twice hosted the Johnnie Walker Classic PGA tournament, once in 2000 and again in 2004. Players who visit the Alpine Golf Club will find a fully stocked pro shop, golf carts, locker rooms with saunas and whirlpool tubs, a club house with a restaurant, coffee shop and a swimming pool.  more on the course in link above

early start around 8.30am, for Alpine its often this time as it is very difficult to get access to the course

Start
Players into groups organised by IGST often last minute changes with cancellations / delays and the groups will be re shuffled so make sure you have the group chat connection
the team has decided on 1 person to sign in to record live scores which means a live leader board to follow and the same system a few hrs after the game auto emails each player their e-scorecard

There are many challenging holes at Alpine, many tee positions demand great consideration for attack to be risk free of bunkers or water hazards

Outcome
Weather was in the main perfect all day
Course in excellent condition
Speed of play was good
Food, drinks and clubhouse hospitality was high quality
Quite a few stayed for the presentation (during covid this was discouraged and members needed to leave immediately after the game).
Please do know all welcome to stay and enjoy the fellowship and excellent hospitality of the club restaurant

Play-a-round
Apart from golfing on the day, I multitask attempting the following tasks (often means not a good golf score) No problem / “Mai Mee Pbun Haa”
Photos / videos: very dependant on weather conditions and the vibe of the player group If the weather is threatening rain / high humidity then its poor depth of field (low quality) If the player group is not known or strictly golf then we avoid photo contact

Pretty hard for me to start this early in the morning ... coffee coffee coffee
BUT IT IS WELL WORTH THE EFFORT ... ALPINE IS QUITE AMAZING

Beautiful sunshine blue sky - perfect for photos n vids but gets a little tiring in the heat so you need to pace yourself but thats hard when its such a majestic stunning golf course
