located within Benjakitti Park, also known as QUEEN SIRIKIT PARK
An oval in shape and in the middle lies a large dam decorated with fountains known as lake Ratchada or lake Rajada. The lake is approx 2km in diameter with hire options for paddleboat or canoe and surrounded by a quality walkway providing popular exercise circuit for all who enter, the surface is perfect for walk, run, bike or rollerblade.
One one side of the park are many gardens with a pleasant casual walk area, toilets and rest areas as well as a few prime photo shoot spots for engagements or weddings.
Benjakiti boasts a separated bicycle lane that makes it possible to cycle as fast as you like with little interference. Bikes of all sizes can be rented for 40 baht per one hour. Rental bikes are available, during the day, the park is often empty and gets lively in the evenings, the curious should get there before 6pm and watch the world stand still (national anthem), then get ready for stunning sunset photos with city buildings in the background. Only meters away is the Retro live caf'e located on the Sukhumvit side of Queen Sirikit Convention Center offering a raised viewpoint back over Park. The caf'e is International standard with seating inside and outside to cater for up to 500 guests and to one side is a Royal Sala, excellent for photo shots. |
