 The problem is .. most of the effects are designed for the sky which is off the horiz line and that means we need Warp effect or its a waste of time there are work arounds see below

the warp issue is a big issue with this app as the filters are many for the sky, ideas below

tips:
if you add a lense flare or filter it will expose the seam .. where the end of the image wraps and meets

in this flat image the planet up high will be distorted in a 360 as that section will canvas will warp I show below how to manage
add a filter ..  the black hole effect up high will be distorted in a spherical below i show how to manage
Warning: filterswhen you apply filters or lense flares it will most likely expose the seam
the seam being when the two ends of the image wrap and join

Remove Seamssometimes the photo stitching shows a seam or it is exposed by adding filters or lenses flares in editors

expose the seam to a workflow area ie., move it away from extreme left and right apps Veer (free IOS and Android) Editor 360 IOS (not free) Theta (free) IOS and Android change the start position (starting view) left or right by 1 cm or ? to suit then output the seam is not exposed ie., you can see it (refer sample below) now you can use various apps to wash it out / blend / vanish / patch example: using editor 360
I shifted the centre / focus point left 2 cms and now u can see the vertical fault line 2 cms from the right
 apps to use to vanish/blend/heel save over original image FREE IOS app called entouch can be accessed in photo extension within camera roll so it saved on the original access it on the image within camera roll and brush down the seam with your finger and wash out fault Free app SNAPSEED IOS and Android feature Heel can wash out the fault and save over original option to save over exiting or make new copy both of these apps are listed in 360 apps page under utilities other apps most editors can do the job but then you have to reload into an app that can inject metadata I prefer to use entouch as you can access the image from within the camera roll as an extension app and save over original
if i feel I want to tweak the image then I use snapseed manage warpingthis is where the inserted item will be too high or low of horizontal line and will be distorted (warped)
Two (2) choices
apart from testing the area .. how to go with an insert before it warps
option 1
1. create templates for images and insert them using VeeR
the insert for VeeR must be square and is explained in the lab test about making a banner
in making a banner I insert images off the horizin line which is what we require now

you make as many as you need then apply wherever you want as VeeR will warp as needed
option 2
use free IOS app edit 360 to change the Horizon of the image
the free app link can be found in page 360 apps Editor 360
before any changes image below the horiz has been pushed down and nadir top is almost on the horizon
 now load this image into Alien Sky and add images
example
 load the image back into editor 360 and correct the horizon
insert image is now warped
 Make it into an Epic Motion video
use the apps listed in the 360 app page under Photo to Video in regard to effects and Filters
