TopPrincess Mother Memorial Park อุทยานเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี A visit to this memorial park doesn’t only give you a relaxing ambience in a lush garden but an insight to the life and works of the beloved Princess Mother of Thailand. The memorial park was the result of HM King Bhumibol’s wish to turn the area where his mother, The Princess Mother, spent her childhood years in Wat Anongkaram community in Thonburi into a beautiful garden to pay tribute to her works for Thai people.
The Princess Mother Memorial Park is located within the Khlong San district of Bangkok, close to the banks of the Chao Phraya River. The easiest way to reach the park is to catch the Chaophraya River Express boat to the Memorial Bridge Pier. The park museum is open daily from 9am to 4pm and admission is free.

A mother of two kings, Rama VIII and the current Rama IX, the Princess Mother is mostly known for her kind and humble character as she wasn’t born a princess but a commoner who thus later raised her children like a normal family based on moral principles.
There are two exhibition halls where you can learn about her life and works. One of her most significant achievements is the Doi Tung Developement Project she founded in 1988 to help raise the living standard of hill tribes in northern provinces so that she was referred as Mae Fah Luang, which means “the mother of us all.” The park features an actual-size model of the house where the Princess Mother was born and lived, set amid a beautifully landscaped garden. The Princess Mother passed away in 1995, two years after the memorial park was built. Photographs from her royal cremation ceremony in 1996 are also displayed here.
Wikipedia
The Princess Mother Memorial Park (Thai: อุทยานเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี, often shortened to สวนสมเด็จย่าฯ, Suan Somdet Ya) is a park in Bangkok, Thailand. It was established in 1993, and opened on January 21, 1997, by King Bhumibol Adulyadej, in remembrance of his mother, Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother.
The park contains gardens and a reproduction of the royal mother's childhood home, as well as two exhibition halls showing memorabilia of the princess and the royal family and a pavilion with a statue of the princess. There is also a souvenir shop which sells items from charitable foundations and social welfare organisations which used to be under her patronage; the profits go to help the poor and the destitute.
The park is located within Khlong San District, close to the banks of the Chao Phraya River, near the south end of Phra Pok Klao Bridge, on Soi Somdet Chao Phraya 3, next to the Kuan Ou Shrine.
