This site charts Det 5's colourful history, expressed in words and pictures, from its humble and unassuming beginnings — a wooden beer bar with 1 counter top and 5 bar stools — all the way to its current incarnation as an oasis in the centre of the heaving cauldron that is Bangkok, offering al fresco dining – with a wide selection of Thai and International delicacies – an eclectic range of music, 2 pool tables, as well as a children's playground, in a relaxed and informal, family-friendly environment.
