A hidden treasure!
Infusion of new and old at the hub of major transport systems.
At the entrance are two (2) major shopping centres, both with walk thru access to the BTS skytrain.
The Soi itself is relatively quiet, a homestead culture, several small boutique hotels and a steady community culture, an abundance of hospitality features such as 24/7 convenience stores, restaurants and more.
Nightlife and shopping zones nearby.

to from Airport: Excellent
by skytrain: 1 km to station Makkasan, 15 min express transfer to airport, read more.
by taxi: 2km to freeway bypass

> @ 500mtrs into Soi 19 is back rd access to Asoke (Soi 21) for BTS Makkasan, or continue onto airport freeway, in the other direction is premiere nightlife zone Suk Soi 11.

So many worthy nominees, Bangkok (Thailand) is a champion of culinary taste delights
- Terminal21 shopping plaza, built late 2011, diverse range of restaurants AND a unique tourism theme, previously it was Robinson with tops supermarket and food hall on the opposite corner, still popular.
- "Big Mama" a Italian Pizzeria and Madam Sarnair (Thai) next door, common owners so order of either menu and sit indoor or out.
- Across the road 50mtrs into Soi 14 is Suda Restaurant; simple decor, low prices, loads of people, surprisingly many tourists and it appears all come via "word of mouth", it's entertaining to watch the local.
- 150mtrs toward Si 12 on Sukhumvit is Laan Beer (that's what we call it), a courtyard of Western restaurants, open air dining; variety and trendy.
Far too many people come and go experiencing the delight of street food, if you need a few tips try Thai food $1 Menu, ideally you should have a local host or 1st have a few drinks to give you the confidence to try (not die).

- Soi 19 is homestead culture, 1 local "Beer garden, but within 500mtrs there are many places; pool bars, sports bars Pubs and taverns and also Thai style. See tips and tricks in Soi 19 bis directory.

 Social: The ever popular Friends massage, your always welcome to join the outdoor table for a card game or a social drink, across the road in the sub-soi Chivit Chiva Spa Centre (No 2) (to die for). The two (2) travel agents are lovely people excellent local knowledge.
- Khun Biat, the local street vendor seamstress outside Hotel Silq, everyday he sets up under the umbrella. His hair cut is old style Michael Jackson, you'll see him for 8hrs per day, if you care to say hello, you'll agree that's he is a wonderful chap and many a good story to share (he'll say his English is not good not so).
- The young (mentally challenged) boy from "Honey Hotel" is always kerbside Singing or engaged in charades.
