With the exception of "King Power duty free complex", which is dedicated to Tourists, the zone is more for locals, much lower prices but not so many touristy help signs.
 
There is an long winding market that breaches in an around a few streets otherwise a few nice quality Centres for bargain shopping and not to mention the wholesale clothing market.
Interchange of BTS (skytrain), Canal (Khlong) "Saen Saep" fast ferry (2 star local culture)

    Computer; accessories for phones, notebook, notepad, Ipod, phone,etc. It's more local than touristy. 4 flrs, helps to have a local as everything is not touristy. Open:daily 10-8pm 
  • Baboe Tower Wholesale
    clothing of every kind, the wholesale centre of garments for 30 yrs. Buy in bulk cheaply. Some stores require bulk purchase (10 items) so shop with a friend. it's right on the Canal at     Canal pier 26 Cnr Damrongrak & Krung Kasem Rds. Open:Daily 
  • Platinum Mall 
    Clothing galore 4 flrs 1,000 stalls Cheap. 4star venue, includes Food and drink. It's more local than touristy. Try the Canal ferry Pier no: 22 only a short walk.
